Okay, I've been so busy the past few weeks that I haven't had time to do anything scrappy. Not anything big anyway. And today, I had a few hours, and I really thought I could get right back into it... but when I put my week one LO into my 365 album, I found myself wondering what it would be like to take a break and just do the photo a day/layout a week for the year. I put my Book of Me for 2008 away and thought I didn't want to do another 8x8 Book of Me this year. I looked at my 12x12 LOs, some recently created and others that had been sent back from various magazines, waiting to be put back in their albums, and I thought... *UGH!*
So, what to do... what to do... I don't know. So I thought I'd post here and whine to you, my friends.
Instead of scrapping this morning, I edited some photos that I'd promised to a few people. And I found this from the last day of school in December. How cute is he? It was Pajama Day at the school, and his class wore Santa hats for their presentation at the assembly.
What else can I whine about? lol. The ongoing bus strike? It's STILL dragging on. I think that's why I'm in a bad mood. I was hoping that we'd see an end to this month-long strike, but alas, the union has firmly rejected the city's latest offer, and with Parliament prorogued until the end of January (and even then, with many other more pressing issues on the Parliamentary agenda), we can't look to politicians to legislate these folks back to work... so I'm really hoping both sides (the union and the city) can work harder to come to an agreement. Like I've said before, our family is doing okay... we are tired and maybe a little stressed out and/or inconvenienced by this situation, but there are other families who don't have the flexibility and/or resources that we do, and they have been hit very hard. It's awful.
Okay, this wasn't meant to be a total downer of a post. I'll end on a positive note and share the cute little double-pager I created for a Simple Scrapbooks call for pages of childhood memories... this appears in the Readers' Gallery of the Jan/Feb 2009 issue of Simple.
And with that, I'll sign off and wish everyone a happy Friday and a great weekend! :)
P.S. About my taking a break from scrapbooking... anyone who knows me at all knows that it won't happen. Not for long anyway. I think I just need to hit the treadmill right now, before heading out to do my volunteer stint at the school and taking my son to his appointment, and tonight, who knows? Maybe I'll feel like scrapping again. There's a GREAT challenge on the
Simple Studio Blog to use the Jan/Feb sketch from
Melanie... and even though I've already done one LO with this sketch, I think I'm going to give it another go!
You are allowed to take a break if you want to. You are allowed to just persue one thing at a time you know. =P I hear you on the bizarre feeling you are having right now. I've been dealing with this for a few weeks now. Hopefully it's just linked to this transit strike that you are living right now. Just put those LOs and supplies aside and they'll be waiting for you when you're ready. =)

Hope you feel the scrappy love soon ... cause I love seeing your layouts! Sometimes you just have to take a break and let the creativity come back on its own. Good luck ... and good luck surviving the strike ... I am **so** tired of leaving the house at 6 am ... there has to be a better way!

I have been taking a break too the past little while. I have been super busy with school and other projects, so I haven't had time, and I dread having to edit photos before starting anything... also, I started to make a december daily and only did 2 pages before losing mojo!! how sad! so you're not alone!
Well, I love that double pager!!
Have a great weekend :)
