*sigh*
It was harder than I thought it would be. To do five fun things that were just for me. After all, my life is chockful of commitments to other people, so not much I do is for me and me alone.
Still, I gave it my best shot. This is what I came up with.
- I taught a REALLY good spin class on Saturday morning. I know this wasn't really for me, but it was fun. Lots of fun. I'm finally starting to get comfortable at the front of the spin studio. And I LOVE being the one in charge of the music, control freak that I am...
- I really enjoyed catching up with Caroline and Aubrey at their party on Saturday. It's been far too long since we connected. They're busy people. We're busy people. It's not a good mix. But Saturday was a little slice of fun to remind us that we need to clear our calendars every now and then to connect with the people who matter to us.
- As physically demanding as it is, I truly enjoy my weekly Sunday morning Tennis Boot Camp workout. Tennis drills and boot camp style interval training for two hours... the coach is super-motivating, and the other participants are great. This week's workout was indeed fun. But, sssssh, don't tell the coach that!
- I went through my iTunes library and listened to a whole mess of 80s songs, looking for the perfect forgotten tracks for my spin playlists.
- I dug out some cheery scrapbooking supplies and made a card. The results were less than stellar, but I'm happy to have made something with my hands... and I've already written a note to a friend in it!
I did a few other (small-ish) fun things I haven't done in a while. Here's my list of honourable mentions:
- I hauled out my dSLR and snapped a few action shots of Lemon running with her BIG stick (a small branch, actually).
- I read a couple of books out loud with Jamesie for a Family Literacy Day-related initiative the school is starting up.
- I shopped at Old Navy where I found a sweet little skort that's got a dark grey skirt layer and a bright turquoise shorts layer.
Not bad, hey? Not great, but not bad.
I'll have to work on it. Having more fun every day. :)

I need to try this, too. I keep losing sight of the fact I REALLY want more joy in my life. It's too easy to get sucked into the routines of everyday.

Good for you! Love the sounds of the skort; I had a horribly discouraging shopping trip Monday *shudder*
