Okay, where has the week gone?! It's Thursday morning already, and today's my last work day for the week (as usual) but it's also the last school day of the week for the boys too.
On Monday, the boys brought home their report cards, and I'm happy to report that they are both doing very well at school. Between the two of them, there was only one C (and that is definitely linked to a behavioural/safety issue in gym class for a certain boy who will remain unnamed ;)), but the rest were As and Bs. Hurray for them!
Thomas did a book report presentation in class this week... it was on a Geromino Stilton book, and he did an amazing job at it. The project involved decorating a large paper bag and then placing 7 or more items into the bag. The items had to represent various elements of the story (character, plot, setting, etc.). He had a cue card for each item, and he managed to learn the presentation well enough that he didn't have to read directly from the cards all the time (although I hinted that he might want to stick to the cards, just so he didn't stray too far off topic!).
Last night, I went to a fundraising dinner and auction for the daycare and had a great time catching up with a few friends I hadn't seen in a while. I didn't end up with too many winning bids, but I did manage to snag a certificate for furnace or air conditioning maintenance. I know, I know... not very exciting, but at least I'm not bringing more *stuff* into my already cluttered home. lol
Okay, it's past just 6:30 am, and I hear people on the move. I'd better get the day started. I'll leave you with this, a photo I snapped on the weekend.
I have to say, I didn't remember taking this one, so when I saw it on my monitor this morning (just after I grabbed it from my dSLR), it took my breath away. It's not a technically perfect photo, but the happy expression on my usually cheesy-smiling kid made me beam. The best part is that he's actually... well, happy. He's one of these kids who sometimes bottles stuff up inside, but lately, I'm starting to think (hope) he's getting a grip on the school/perfectionist/anxiety thing. *knock on wood!*
Oh, that's it. It's 6:40 now. Gotta run! Happy Thursday, and thanks for reading.
Way to go Thomas on a great presentation and way to go to both boys on their report cards.
I hope you all enjoy your day together tomorrow.
