Here are some random tidbits of our lives to start off the week:
- It's a long weekend/holiday Monday here in Canada, and we've actually had very summer-like weather for the occasion. Warm, humid air coupled with thunderstorms. At least it's not been downpouring during the day, so we've been able to get outside to have fun.
- The French Open started yesterday. I'm looking forward to watching some good tennis on TSN with the boys. We'll be cheering for the likes of Federer, Nadal, del Potro and, of course, the up-and-coming Canadian boy, Milos Roanic.
- James hosted his best friend, Jimmy, for a playdate at our house yesterday. I barely know this kid, but I love him already. He was so polite and funny and smart and... well, Jamesie was a different kid around his friend. I don't think I've seen him that relaxed around anyone else before. Confident. Comfortable. I love how the boys clicked.
- Thomas and Mike played squash yesterday afternoon. Ever since the beginning, Mike said that he would never let Thomas win without putting up a good fight... that's just the way it is with him and sports. The big news is that it won't be long before Thomas is beating his dad, fair and square. That boy is moving around the court and hitting the ball really well.
- I cannot believe the heaps and heaps of laundry we generate every week. Even though I do a few loads during the week, most of it ends up getting done on the weekends. With the boys playing tennis and/or squash several times a week, coupled with my running, aerobics and tennis clothes, I figure I wash and fold about 8-9 loads of laundry a week. I think I need a high-capacity washer/dryer set to streamline the work.
- Last week, I had a coworker ask me what it was about tennis that I LOVED so much. We had a rather interesting conversation leading up to that, but that question itself has stuck in my brain for almost a week now. This is what I said to her:
"Tennis is really hard. When I started, I sucked. But with a lot of really, really hard work, I improved. I think it's those "A-ha!" moments when something just clicks and I go from sucking to doing a good job... that's what makes me love it."
.....
Oh, before I go, one last thing. I scrapped again this weekend. *gasp*
* James and his Star Wars addiction: note the drawings on the wall and Origami Yoda book he's reading. :)
.....
Thanks for dropping by to visit. Have a great week!
I'm with you on the laundry-I did 7 loads on Friday and guess what? 3 more today! UGH!

Loved seeing a Star Wars page after our twitter talk last week and I totally sympathize with the laundry situation!
