Let the over-eating begin!

Tis the season for eating things I shouldn't eat... and in larger-than-necessary serving sizes.

Halloween candy (James' stash, plus our family's leftovers from last night), birthday cakes (two of 'em) and pre-Christmas treats will necessitate the scheduling of extra workouts this month.

James is enjoying life with the like-minded, geeky, sci fi- and math-loving kids at his new school. You know how I can tell? He comes home from school with ideas like this:

Last night, he went trick or treating with Russell, a friend from his old school. Here's Russell the skeleton warrior, Anna the witch (aka Russell's sister) and James the Borg drone.

Speaking of the boys' old school, I dropped by Hopkins yesterday morning to help christen the pirate ship play structure that I spent years and years fundraising and grant proposal writing for. Here I am with a few council members, the principal, our school board trustee and our city councillor.
